I’m broke.
Some of you may know that my com has been experiencing some problems for some time.. about 2 weeks? Or less. And my biggest mistake is not taking my com for servicing when the problems started occurring. Like I use halfway then the com switch off by itself.
Well last night it switched off by itself again, and this time, it couldn’t be switched back on. So.. gone case have to send for servicing. Called my uncle who fetched me to simlim today .. brought my heavy heavy CPU lor.
Then right.. I had the receipt and warranty card from the shop I bought from. So I followed the ‘address’ on the card. 6th floor.. 06-27. Then I took the lift to the 6th floor and looked at the shop numbers.. 06-20… 06-21 … walk walkwalk. 06-27..
ZOMG!
THE SHOP IS GONE. NOW IS SOME HANDPHONE SHOP.
ZOMG.
So I walked up closer to the shop.. looked in and hoped that the shop was like hiding behind in the backroom or something. Or I was hallucinating. And that stupid handphone shop remained there. And the address #06-27 was printed big and clear as if to taunt me.
So I continued walking around in a daze.. then suddenly this girl from inside a shop asked ‘You looking for a shop?’
(wa psychic.)
“Er yea.. b---- computers”
‘Oh.. they moved away already. You want to fix your computer is it? Want me to take a look?’
=) ok . so I let her take a look and she dismantled my com and started testing the different parts.. blabla. Her male employee who was significantly pro-er came back and helped her, and they concluded that
1) My computer fan was spoilt
2) One piece of the RAM (I had 2 pieces of 256) was spoilt
3) The mainboard was spoilt.
2) and 3) were probably the result of 1). Dammit. I should have heeded the earlier warning signals when my com switched off by itself – i.e. overheating. :/
So while he was still acting pro and going through the parts in the computer I casually asked ‘how much ah’.
Then he pulled out this big fat calculator which I notice all sim lim square owners have (is it some free gift when you move into sim lim square) and started pressing buttons.. then showed me the number
215
-faints-
SO EXPENSIVE! Zzz. I was expecting at most 100 plus. Then he gave me the breakdown.. 120 was for the mainboard replacement, 35 for RAM, 35 for fan, 35 for labour cost/installation. Then I asked for discount and he brought it down to $205.
There goes my money.
The good thing was that all my files were intact magically. I was already like in despair and thinking of all the files and stuff that were gonna be lost if he reinstalled everything. But I dunno how he did it but everything was intact. =D my shows =D
Oh and I lugged that heavy CPU back from Sim Lim by myself cos my uncle not free anymore. It was at least 20kg man that freaking heavy thing. And I took bus somemore. My back felt like it was gonna breaaak.
Ok , who wants to donate to the Alan Charity Fund?
